The Bible Study Project

More Than Just Learning Scripture

One of the most unexpected things about my faith journey has been discovering how practical God's Word really is.

When I first started what I now call The Bible Study Project, my goal was simple: learn the Bible.

Like many people, I wanted to grow closer to God, but I quickly realized that if I didn't intentionally make time for Him, life would happily fill every available moment. Between business, family, appointments, projects, and everything else that comes with daily life, it can be easy to put spiritual growth on the back burner without even realizing it.

So I started listening to gospel music, worship music, sermons, and Bible teachings while driving. Then I began studying Scripture more intentionally.

What I didn't expect was how much it would impact my parenting.

If you're a parent of a teenager, you already know that sometimes they can provide enough attitude to power an entire city.

In the past, I might have become frustrated and responded with my own emotions. Instead, I started doing something different.

When my teenager is struggling with frustration, anger, worry, fear, disrespect, or any other challenge, I simply search for what the Bible says about it.

Then I hand her the Scripture and ask her to read it.

Not my opinion.

Not my lecture.

Not my frustration.

God's Word.

And almost every time, something changes.

The frustration softens.

The tension fades.

The conversation becomes easier.

And before long, we're both smiling.

Sometimes she looks at me with that expression that says, "Well... I can't really argue with that."

Because these aren't my words.

They're His.

That realization changed everything for me.

I began seeing the Bible not only as a guide for my own life, but as a parenting tool, a teaching tool, and a source of wisdom for everyday situations.

The more I learned, the more I realized there was one problem:

I couldn't always remember where everything was.

I would remember a lesson but not the book.

A verse, but not the chapter.

A principle, but not where to find it.

So I started creating songs to help me learn.

One of the first songs I created is called "Look It Up!"

The idea behind the song is simple:

The Bible is full of answers, but first you have to know where to start looking.

"Look It Up!" walks through the books of the Bible and what they are known for, so that when questions come up in life, finding God's guidance becomes a little easier.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that my song-making skills still need some work.

But that's not really the point.

The goal isn't perfection.

The goal is growth.

Every song helps me remember something new. Every lesson helps me strengthen my relationship with God. Every verse helps me become a better parent, a better leader, and a better person.

The Bible Study Project started as a way to learn Scripture.

It has become a way to live it.

And honestly, I wish I had started sooner.

If you're trying to grow in your faith, parent with more patience, or simply understand God's Word better, my encouragement is simple:

When life gets confusing...

When emotions run high...

When you don't know what to do...

Look it up.

You might be surprised by what God has already provided.

Follow Along

The Bible Study Project is an ongoing part of The 4F Club. As I continue learning, studying, and creating songs based on Scripture, I'll be sharing what I'm discovering along the way.

I don't claim to have all the answers.

I'm simply a student of God's Word learning one lesson at a time.

And if my journey helps someone else grow closer to Him too, then every minute spent on this project is worth it.

Once I can figure out how to get the songs uploaded to the website, they will be available for you to listen to.
